I draw a lot of inspiration from the sound of music recorded in the 1960s 
    and earlier. My basic approach to music is experimental. In fact, as long 
    as I’m not sure exactly what it is I’m doing, I’m on the 
    right track, because it means I’m not working to a formula. Not that 
    a formula is a bad thing but they only ever seem to work once. Most performances 
    are improvised and arranged later.
